Can patients use ArtAICare to find an art therapist?

Yes. Patients can access ArtAICare to discover licensed art therapists and mental health professionals who offer art-based interventions through the platform. All therapeutic services are delivered and supervised by verified professionals. ArtAICare does not provide therapy directly and does not offer unsupervised or automated treatment.

Is ArtAICare a replacement for therapy or therapists?

No. ArtAICare is a professional support platform. All therapy is delivered, supervised, and clinically validated by licensed professionals. The platform does not replace therapists or automate care.

Is ArtAICare clinically validated?

Yes. ArtAICare is developed in alignment with peer-reviewed research and validated through ongoing clinical trials. Early studies and pilot deployments have shown measurable improvements in recovery time, therapist efficiency, and treatment personalization across multiple clinical contexts.

Does AI make clinical decisions?

No. ArtAICare does not provide diagnoses, automated therapy, or autonomous clinical decisions. All clinical responsibility remains with the licensed professional.

What is the role of Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) technology?

BCI-based measurements are used, where available, to support objective tracking of therapeutic responses and complement self-reported and observed outcomes. This layer is optional and designed to enhance insight, not replace clinical judgment.

Who can sign up as a therapist?

Only licensed mental health professionals are permitted to deliver therapy through the platform. Professional credentials are verified during onboarding.

Can patients access ArtAICare directly?

Patients can access ArtAICare through licensed professionals. The platform is not a direct-to-consumer therapy service and does not provide unsupervised therapeutic content. However, Patients can sign up to find an art therapist and request onboarding directly through the platform.

Do I need special equipment to use ArtAICare?

ArtAICare is a standard web-based platform and can be accessed through a computer browser, tablet, or smartphone, depending on the therapeutic workflow. Certain interventions, such as immersive or virtual reality–based sessions, require compatible VR hardware. Subject to availability, ArtAICare offers loan or rental therapy kits, including virtual reality headsets, to individual therapists and institutions to support clinical use.

Is ArtAICare GDPR compliant?

Yes. ArtAICare complies fully with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable European data protection laws. Data security and privacy are core design principles.

How is patient data protected?

ArtAICare uses encryption, secure cloud infrastructure, role-based access control, and strict data governance protocols. Data is never sold or used for unauthorized purposes.

Who owns the clinical data in ArtAICare, and how is it used?

Licensed therapists and their affiliated institutions retain ownership and custodianship of all clinical and therapeutic data generated through their use of ArtAICare, in accordance with applicable laws, professional standards, and contractual terms. Patients retain ownership of their own personal health information subject to their therapist’s clinical recordkeeping practices and legal requirements.

ArtAICare acts as a data processor on behalf of the therapy provider and processes data solely for the purpose of delivering the Services, maintaining system functionality, ensuring security, and improving the platform. We do not sell or license client data to third parties, and data is only accessed by authorized personnel for operational or legal reasons.

ArtAICare is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws. This includes transparent data minimization, purpose limitation, data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability), and robust safeguards for sensitive health information.

In line with evolving regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act, any artificial intelligence components used within the platform are designed and implemented according to principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, accountability, and human oversight. ArtAICare ensures that AI-driven outputs remain advisory, that professional users retain full decision-making authority, and that the system can be audited for compliance and safety.

Founded by Dr. Yilma, the ArtAICare Academy is an independent educational initiative providing advanced training in digital and AI literacy for mental health professionals. The Academy is purpose-built for art-based and trauma-informed therapeutic practice, offering clinically grounded, case-based learning rather than generic AI courses.

Its flagship Therapist Accelerator Program equips participants with a practical understanding of the underlying technologies and artificial intelligence used within the ArtAICare platform. This enables therapists to critically engage with digital tools, understand how AI supports personalization and structured interventions, and apply technology responsibly within clinical workflows.

While the Academy operates independently, the knowledge gained directly enhances therapists’ ability to assess, adopt, and meaningfully integrate ArtAICare into their professional practice.

Is the Academy training or Certification required to use the platform?

No. The Academy and the SaaS platform are independent. However, Academy training helps professionals better understand the clinical and analytical value the platform provides.
